MARS JUPITER (B.1987 HAVANA, CUBA)
BASED IN MIAMI AND SAN FRANCISCO
Object and Cultural Relativism.
Mars Jupiter is a visual artist working in both; three- and two- dimensional planes. The wall sculptures of Lee Bontecou made him become interested in the power that an object can possess as a natural trait.
Then again, visual art that is based solely on craft and skill can be beautiful, striking but utterly vacant. He the animal laboran must become the homo faber by any means necessary.
III. (Cultural Relativism)
The series of images presented here include works that play with the notion that culture is relative and conditioned.
Miami is a place to explore this notion since there is such a vast overlapping of cultures. It is all due to immigration, effort and the Enlightenment Era’s idea of the pursuit of happiness.
