BLUE CURRY

Artist, b. Nassau, Bahamas, 1974.
Works London/Nassau.

Curry is a London/Nassau-based artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation. He obtained an MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and a BA (Hons) in Photography and Multimedia at the University of Westminster, London. VITRINE exhibited ‘Souvenir’ a solo show of Blue Curry in 2014.

Blue Curry’s work repurposes commonplace objects to explore themes of exoticism, tourism and cultural commodification. His practice shifts between Nassau and London, juxtaposing the culture, both indigenous and tourist, of the Caribbean, with a new, urban setting, suggesting that Western society is built on superficial foundations.
